Data Centre Operation

Training

Over the last few years, the role of a data centre manager and a facilities manager have converged, (or should have), significantly.  It is no longer the case that the data centre manager requires little or no understanding of the cooling systems or the power provision.  It is equally no longer the case that the facility manager needs little or no understanding of the technology that is deployed.  Both of these roles require knowledge of the other.  When the air conditioning fails and the Chairman's email server goes down, he won't be ringing the facility manager, he will ring the data centre manager to ask why he has lost his email service.  Conversely, when the air conditioning fails, it is likely to be connected to the network and sending out an SNMP alert - if the facility manager doesn't understand this, he is immediately at a disadvantage.

Migration Solutions offers training for all aspects of data centre and computer room operation.  Whether this is a simple one-off bespoke course on a single topic such as the impacts of the CRC, or a more complex full course for data centre managers, Migration Solutions has the ability to provide training.  Some of the courses currently offered are:
